Eden Haney Love and relationship coach in training

You're driven. You're capable. And you still feel alone.

It's common among high achievers, especially in tech, and it can change. I help people reconnect with themselves, with the people around them, and with the world they live in.

Who I work with

Driven people who are hungry for connection.

Known for what you do, not who you are

People rely on you. Very few people actually know you.

In a relationship and still lonely

You share a life, but not much of yourself.

Friends drifted away

Each job change or move left fewer people who really know you.

Work fills every gap

Being busy is easier than being with people.

Easier to think than to feel

You can explain your feelings better than you can feel them.

Ready for more

Nothing is wrong, exactly. You just want to feel more connected.

Why it happens

We used to get connection built in.

Quiet mornings gave us time with ourselves. Getting water from the well or walking to the market kept us in touch with the earth. The village kept us in touch with each other. As society changed, most of that went away, and nothing replaced it.

We're more connected than ever and less connected than ever. The loneliness epidemic and social media addiction are what that gap looks like.

With yourself

The quiet morning, and time to hear what you feel and want.

With each other

The village, and people who know all of you.

With the earth

The well and the market, and a body and place you actually live in.

These are one disconnection at three levels, so I start with the inner work. As people reconnect with themselves, their lives change. They become more confident, more open and more connected.

The work

What we do together

We meet on Zoom for 55 minutes, weekly or every other week. We work with what you think and with what you feel in your body. Some sessions include dialogue exercises, where you practice saying what you usually keep to yourself.

I won't push you to feel more than you're ready for, and I won't let you hide behind a plan.

You can pass on anything. If a question doesn't feel right, say "pass" and we move on.

What you say stays with me. Sessions are confidential.

You don't need to have it figured out. You do need to show up as you are.

How it works

Four steps, with no pressure at any of them.

  4. Continue or finish

Around session eight, we decide together.

About

I'm an engineer and data scientist. I know what “I'm fine” sounds like when it isn't.

  • I know what it's like to be good at everything except being with yourself.
  • I know how easy it is to be valued for your work and unseen as a person.
  • I know what we do when someone gets close: we change the subject, make a joke, or get busy.
  • I know how to explain a feeling perfectly and not feel it.
  • I know how work fills every gap, until it doesn't.

I studied control, optimization and machine learning at UCLA, and I loved it. I've worked at NASA Goddard, the Naval Research Lab and an autonomous freight startup. For the last five years I've done the inner work: three years of talk therapy, two and a half years of somatic coaching, countless books and regular meditation. I'm training as a love and relationship coach with VITA.

  • M.S. Electrical and Computer Engineering (control theory), UCLA
  • Degrees in mathematics and electrical engineering
  • Research at NASA Goddard and the Naval Research Lab
  • Early engineer at an autonomous freight startup
  • Love and relationship coach training, VITA (2026)
  • Five years of talk therapy, somatic coaching and meditation

I live in Topanga, California, and I write about tech work culture on LinkedIn.

Questions
Is this therapy?

No. Coaching looks at where you are now and where you want to go. If something comes up that needs a therapist, I'll tell you. If you're in crisis, please contact a mental health professional or call or text 988 in the US.

What if I miss a session?

Let me know at least 24 hours ahead and we'll reschedule.

How do the payments work?

Pay in full, or in five monthly payments of $500. I'll send a secure payment link.

What if I'm not sure I'm lonely enough?

There's no threshold. If something here sounded like you, that's enough to have a conversation.
